Douglas PUD Comission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Molly Simpson and Ron Skagen executed the following actions during the May 9, 2016 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:

Opened bid under bid document 16-16-W, 2016-2017 heavy equipment services for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. The bid will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Reviewed bid opening results for bid document 16-03-D, supply and deliver control and relay panels for the Veedol Substation. The bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Reviewed bid opening results for bid document 16-04-D, supply and deliver tubular steel for the Veedol Substation. The bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Awarded contract 16-03-D, supply and deliver control and relay panels for the Veedol Substation to Electrical Power Products, Inc. the only responsive bidder. (16-075)

Rejected bids under bid document 16-04-D, supply and deliver tubular steel for the Veedol Substation. The bids exceeded the engineer's estimate by more than the amount allowable under state law. (16-076)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 16-23-D, supply and deliver tubular steel for the Veedol Substation. (16-077)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 16-14-W, Construct Wells Hydroelectric Project Interpretive Center as required by the project license.  The outdoor center will feature interpretive exhibits, fish viewing, water feature, trail and new restroom facility.  (16-078)

Approved amendment No. 2 to professional service agreement with Cultural Resource Consultants, LLC for National Historic Preservation Act compliance services. This amendment will extend the agreement three years to 2019 and increase the not to exceed cost to $175,000. (16-079)

Authorized the purchase of acoustic tags and receiver system from Vemco for the 2016 Lamprey Approach, Passage and Enumeration Study for a cost not to exceed $23,322. Using Vemco products allows the District to share data with other users in the Columbia River system. (16-080)

Approved the acceptance of an engagement letter with Baker Tilly Virchow Karuse, LLP for the audit of the Wells Hydroelectric Project fiscal year ended August 31, 2016. (16-081)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. May 23, 2016 at the District's Bridgeport office.
