Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ron Skagen, Jim Davis and Molly Simpson executed the following actions during the November 23, 2015 Commission meeting held at the District's Bridgeport office:

Authorized release of easement for Pangborn Airport. The easement across the newly acquired property is no longer necessary. (15-227)

Authorized release of easement for Michael and Sandra Hayes. The District has abandoned an old direct bury secondary electric service in favor of a new alignment that was recently installed. (15-228)

Approved establishing the new administrative position of Distribution Communications Analyst to increase the capacity for DCCN technical support. (15-229)

Established the assessment roll of Local Utility District (LUD) No. 1 of Douglas County, the Rio Vista Street Lighting System. The Commission was advised the 2016 assessment will be $28.00 per lot. The public hearing date is set for December 28, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. in the East Wenatchee office. Any lot owner in the LUD area wishing to comment on the assessment may do so in writing prior to that time or by attending the hearing in person. (15-230)

Authorized amendment No. 2 to Professional Service Agreement 13-03-W with Erlandsen and Associates. This will allow for continued engineering and construction support, increase the not to exceed limit $1,000,000 for a total not to exceed amount of $1,900,000 and extend the term of the agreement to March 31, 2018. (15-231)

Approved the sole source purchase of air gap machine monitoring equipment from VibroSystM. The system provides generator airgap, shaft vibration and stator position data that is valuable for maintenance, repairs and evaluating the performance of the units following the rehab work currently being performed.(15-232)

Authorized use of Voluntary Employees' Beneficiary Association (VEBA) Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) for employees retiring in 2016.  This allows the deposit of a percentage of the employee's accrued personal leave at retirement into the HRA-VEBA. (15-233)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. December 14, 2015 at the District's East Wenatchee office.
