Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis and Molly Simpson executed the following actions during the September 28, 2015 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:

 

Awarded System Operator John Logan with his twenty-five year service award. Commissioner Davis thanked John on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his years of service. John thanked the Commission and said that it was a great industry to work in and he was honored to have been hired by the best.

Rejected bids under bid document 15-21-D, installation of circuit switcher foundations at Terry Substation. The bids exceeded the engineer's estimate by more than the amount allowable under state law. (15-182)

Accepted work and authorized final payment to Asplundh Tree Expert Co. for the second year under contract 13-12-D, provide Distribution tree trimming services. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (15-183)

Accepted work and authorized  final payment to Cascade Cable Constructors Inc. for the first year under contract 14-09-D, provide traffic control services. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (15-184)

Authorized revising Schedule 6 of the Electric Distribution System Customer Service Policies. These revisions add 10 Gbps and 10 Gbps redundant ports to the Business Class Circuit options. (15-185)

Accepted work and authorized final payment to American Electrical Services, Inc. for work under contract 13-06-W,480V circuit breaker installation for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (15-186)

Accepted work and authorized final payment to Mitchell Trucking and Paving, Inc. for work under contract 15-06-W,  Memorial Park and Peninsula Park trail improvements. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (15-187)

Authorized negotiation of a professional service agreement with The Trapper Man for furbearer trapping services. The District has a need to trap beaver damaging riparian habitat on the Wells Reservoir and furbearers preying on salmon and steelhead at Wells Hatchery. (15-188)

Approved the acceptance of an engagement letter with KPMG LLP for the audit of the Wells Hydroelectric Project fiscal year ended August 31, 2015. KPMG LLP has provided Douglas PUD with consistent certified public accounting services. (15-189)

Authorized a change in Administrative Bulletin 6.2 and 6.3 for employee owned communication devices. It is beneficial for the District to have ready access to certain employees while away from the workplace and after normal business hours. This change simplifies the reimbursement process. (15-190)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. October 12, 2015 at the District's East Wenatchee office.
