Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Molly Simpson and Ron Skagen executed the following actions during the January 11, 2016 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:

 

Commissioners Molly Simpson, Jim Davis and Ron Skagen

Reorganized the Board of Commissioners electing T. James Davis as President, Molly Simpson as Vice President/Assistant Secretary and Ronald E. Skagen as Secretary/Treasurer.

Presented Commissioner Molly Simpson with her one-year service award. Commissioner Davis congratulated Molly on her first of many years of service and said it has been an honor to serve with her. In thanking everyone, Molly said the year has gone fast and she appreciates all the support.

Authorized addendum No. 1 to bid document 15-30-D, supply and deliver two 115kV breakers for the Veedol Substation to clarify data provided. (16-001)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 16-01-D, supply and deliver 15kV vacuum circuit breakers for the Veedol Substation which will be located near Battermann Industrial Park. (16-002)

Authorized amendment No. 8 to Professional Service Agreement with Commonwealth Associates, Inc. under contract 10-13-D, consulting engineering services for Douglas-Rapids 230 kV Transmission Line Project. This agreement allows for the rate schedule to be adjusted annually to reflect any increase in the cost of doing business. There is no increase in the not to exceed amount of  $2,525,376.00. Renewed contract 13-22-W, 2014 grounds maintenance for an additional one-year period with Reeves Lawn and Spray Service. (16-004)

Approved change order No. 1 to contract 15-05-W, resurface the access road at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Changes include adding vault conduits, increasing the thickness of the hatchery road asphalt and extending the completion date. This will increase the contract $31,207 bringing the total cost not-to-exceed to $498,522. (16-005)

Authorized amending resolution No. 15-100 correcting clerical errors. The referenced resolution stated incorrect totals associated with change order No. 39 for contract 06-41-W, generator rebuild for unit refurbishment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. (16-006)

Approved change orders No. 40-43 to contract 06-41-W, generator rebuild for unit refurbishment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. These changes include supply and installation of a generator guide bearing vapor seal assembly, refurbishment of the break ring and three spare generator rotor poles and replacement of coupling bolts for the turbine shaft to runner hub adapter flange.  This will increase the contract $313,820, bringing the total not to exceed amount to $162,775,179. Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 3,009 end users.

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. January 25, 2016 at the District's East Wenatchee office.
