Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Molly Simpson and Ron Skagen executed the following actions during the March 14, 2016 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:

Reviewed bid opening results for bid document 15-27-W, 2016 heavy equipment services for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Tunnel Hill Granite of Chelan was the only bidder. The bid will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Reviewed bid opening results for bid document 16-02-D, supply and deliver 115kV circuit switchers for the Veedol Substation. The bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Reviewed bid opening results for bid document 16-09-D, providing pole testing and treating services. The bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Authorized award of contract 16-02-D, supply and deliver 115kV circuit switchers for the Veedol Substation to Anixter Inc. (S&C Electric), the lowest responsive bidder. (16-038)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 16-04-D, supply and deliver tubular steel for the Veedol Substation which will be located near Battermann Industrial Park. (16-039)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 16-05-D, supply and deliver bus support steel for the Veedol Substation which will be located near Battermann Industrial Park. (16-040)

Approved addendum No. 1 to bid document 16-07-D, construct Veedol Substation. The addendum answers questions from the pre-bid meeting with potential bidders and makes updates to the specifications of the bid document. (16-041)

Authorized award of contract to the lowest responsive bidder, Mi Tech Services, Inc., for contract 16-09-D, providing pole testing and treating services. (16-042)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 16-12-D, provide distribution tree trimming services. The District requires tree trimming for its distribution and transmission lines throughout the District on an as-needed basis. (16-043)

Authorized acceptance of work and final payment for the second renewal to Tunnel Hill Granite under contract 12-12-W, 2012-2013 heavy equipment services. All work under the contract has been completed and determined to meet the bid specifications. (16-044)

Affirmed change order No. 1 to contract 15-15-W, construct meeting room at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. This change includes HVAC revisions, increasing the not-to-exceed cost $2,856 for a total contract cost of $192,856.  (16-045)

Approved amendment No. 1 to professional service agreement with The Trapper Man under contract 15-20-W.  The amendment is necessary to continue protecting fish at the Wells Hatchery and will increase the contract $3,000 for a total not to exceed cost of $21,000. (16-046)

Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 3,060 end users.

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. March 28, 2016 at the District's East Wenatchee office.
