Douglas PUD Commission Meeting Report

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Jim Davis, Molly Simpson and Ron Skagen executed the following actions during the June 6, 2016 Commission meeting held at the District's East Wenatchee office:

Opened bids under bid document 16-23-D, supply and deliver tubular steel poles for the Veedol Substation. All bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Awarded Project Mechanical Foreman Steve Nieuwenhuis with his twenty-five year service award. Commissioner Davis thanked Steve on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his years of service. Steve thanked the Commission and said "It feels like a happy family here."

Reviewed bid opening results for bid document 16-20-W, upgrade the uplift monitoring system at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. The bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Approved a call for bids under bid document 16-19-W, Marina Park electrical improvements. This will upgrade the RV electrical hookups to 50-amp service. (16-090)

Authorized addendum No. 1 to bid document 16-14-W, construct Wells Hydroelectric Project Interpretive Center. Comments received from prospective bidders subsequent to a pre-bid conference resulted in certain clarifications to the bid document. (16-091)

Awarded contract 16-23-D, supply and deliver tubular steel poles for the Veedol Substation to Western Utility / Telecom, Inc. from Salem, OR, the lowest responsive bidder. (16-092)

Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 3,198 end users.

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. June 27, 2016 at the District's East Wenatchee office.
