GENERAL INFORMATION: The Customer Service Representative will have daily interaction with District customers, receive and process mail, open and maintain customer accounts, operate mailroom equipment, and perform the duties of a receptionist. Working hours will be scheduled between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm., Monday through Friday. This position reports to the Customer Accounting Supervisor.
Receive and process customer payments
Maintain accurate cash drawer
Open and maintain customer accounts
Answer phones and direct calls throughout the District
Prepare and send delinquent payment notices
Perform general office filing, data entry, and other duties as assigned
Assist with reading meters as necessary; by driving a vehicle, walking or riding in an aircraft
Assist Billing Clerk as needed
Required Skills and Experience:
Completion of high school education or equivalent
Excellent computer skills
Proficient in the use of a 10-key calculator
Ability to accurately type a minimum of 35 words per minute
Work experience preforming the duties of a cashier and balancing a cash drawer
A positive attitude in a variety of work situations is essential
Current Washington State Driver License and proof of acceptable driving record

Applicants must be capable of working in an office environment and able to communicate clearly with customers on the phone and in person. This position requires standing, sitting, and lifting light objects weighing less than twenty pounds.
This position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. There is a one-year probationary period associated with this position.
