Douglas County PUD Commissioners Aaron J. Viebrock, Molly Simpson and Ronald E Skagen executed the following actions during the May 24, 2021 Commission meeting held at the District's Wells Hydroelectric Project:
Commissioner Viebrock, Commissioner Simpson, Commissioner Skagen, Meaghan Vibbert
Awarded Public Information Officer Meaghan Vibbert with her twenty year service award. Commissioner Viebrock thanked Meaghan on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for her years of service. Meaghan thanked the Commission and said "I feel blessed to get to do a job I love every day. I'm proud to represent our utility who cares about the employees and the communities they serve. I'm excited about my future here!"
Reviewed the bid opening results for bid documents 21-25-D, supply and deliver substation transformers to Urban Industrial Way and 21-27-D, hydrogen gas cascading panels. All bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.
Affirmed change order No. 1 to contract 20-14-D, supply and deliver substation transformers to Lincoln Rock Switchyard. This change corrects the ratings of the specified transformers. This increases the contract amount $10,830. (21-082)
Affirmed change order No. 1 to contract 21-04-D, hydrogen and switchyard site grading. This change adds fencing and mulch necessary for successful hydro-seeding and increases the contract cost by $31,554. (21-083)
Awarded contract 21-27-D, hydrogen gas cascading panels to Advanced Flow Systems Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. (21-084)
Approved a call for bids under Bid Document 21-33-D, hydrogen and Lincoln Rock Switchyard Utility Installations. Necessary to prepare the hydrogen and Lincoln Rock Switchyard sites for final construction. (21-085)
Authorized pursuing a .GOV domain by submitting the appropriate authorization letter to the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. (21-086)
Approved an Interlocal cooperative agreement with Chelan PUD for White Sturgeon rearing at Wells Fish Hatchery. The Wells Hatchery has capacity to rear 2,250 yearling White Sturgeon for Chelan PUD resulting in cost savings for both utilities. The five year fixed cost agreement will expire May 31, 2026. Authorized professional service agreement with Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife for hatchery marking and tagging. The one year agreement is in accordance with the Anadromous Fish Agreement and Habitat Conservation Plan for marking and tagging various hatchery fish including Spring Chinook, Summer Chinook, Summer Steelhead and Coho, the cost of which is not to exceed $345,117.
