News Release – October 25, 2021
Douglas County PUD Commissioners Aaron J. Viebrock, Molly Simpson and Ronald E Skagen executed the following actions during the October 25, 2021 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:
Heard the bid opening results for bid docs. 21-47-D tubular steel structures for Urban Industrial Substation and 21-48-D, standard shape steel for Urban Industrial Substation. All bids will be evaluated prior to contract award recommendation.
Approved acceptance of work and final payment to Royal Switchgear Manufacturing Co. under contract 20-13-D, supply and deliver 115 kV and 230 kV switches to Lincoln Rock Switchyard. All work is complete and determined to meet bid specifications. (21-171)
Affirmed change order No. 1 to contract 21-27-D, H2 Cascading Panels. Due to supply chain delays, the contract completion date will be extended to December 24, 2021. (21-172)
Affirmed change order No. 1 to contract 21-33-D, Hydrogen and Lincoln Rock Switchyard utility instillations. Regrading a retention pond was necessary to accommodate BPA transmission structure work. This change will increase the contract by $24,130. (21-173)
Awarded contract 21-36-D, install power conduit and vaults to Magnum Power the lowest responsive bidder. (21-174)
Awarded contract 21-47-D, tubular steel structures for Urban Industrial Substation to Galvanizers, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. (21-175)
Awarded contract 21-48-D, standard shape steel for Urban Industrial Substation to Galvanizers, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. (21-176)
Authorized a call for bids under bid document 21-56-D, control and relay panels for Urban Industrial Substation. Necessary to provide protection, control and communication with equipment at the Substation. (21-177)
Approved land use permit 749C-03, Justin Belken and Ella Chang. The permit is for use of Project lands for an existing residential landscaping. (21-178)
Authorized land use permit 828E-01, Robert Dow. The permit is for use of Project lands for an existing irrigation pump, access path and gravel pad. (21-179)
Approved IPTV transport rights agreements with KXLY-TV. These agreements are required by most networks to receive and transport the signal over the Douglas County Community Network. (21-180)
Authorized renewal of property insurance coverage with Ace American Insurance Company and AEGIS Insurance Services, Inc. (21-181)
Accepted bids received for surplus District property sold at public auction on September 25, 2021. The auction provided a net return of $114,408 to Douglas PUD. (21-182)
Continued the budget hearing for the Distribution System and Wells Hydroelectric Project for calendar year 2022. The hearing will remain open until Monday, December 13, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. in the East Wenatchee office.
Opened the public hearing for proposed boundary changes to Douglas PUD Commissioner Districts. Douglas County Auditor Thad Duvall presented the proposed County Commissioner District boundaries. No other public comment was received. The hearing was closed.
Approved a request for qualifications RFQ 22-01-W, general architectural services. (21-183)
Authorized acceptance of work and final payment to Andritz Hydro for emergency repair of Unit 2 generator thrust bearing at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. All work is complete and the unit was safely returned to service. (21-184)
Authorized adjustments to certain technical, professional and administrative salaries. An adjustment to salaries of 1.0% due to unique inflationary pressure and to continue to attract and retain a qualified workforce. (21-185)
The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. November 8, 2021 at the District’s East Wenatchee Office.
