News Release – January 9, 2023
Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E Skagen, Aaron J. Viebrock and Molly Simpson executed the following actions during the January 9, 2023 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:
Acknowledged Commissioner Viebrock took his Oath of Office administered by Douglas County Auditor Thad Duvall Tuesday, January 3rd at the Courthouse in Waterville.
Reorganized the Board of Commissioners electing Ronald E. Skagen as President, Aaron J. Viebrock as Vice President/Assistant Secretary and Molly Simpson as Secretary/Treasurer.
Reviewed bid opening results under bid document 22-42-W, Motor Control Center replacement at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. All bids are evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.
Authorized acceptance of work and final payment to PRALAR S.A. under contract 20-14-D, supply and deliver substation transformer to Lincoln Rock Switchyard. All work is complete and determined to meet bid specifications. (23-001)
Approved acceptance of work and final payment to MVA Power Inc. under contract 21-30-D, supply and deliver tubular steel poles for the Rapids to Columbia 230KV Transmission Line. All bids are evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award. (23-002)
Rejected award of contract under bid document 22-43-D, rebuild Rapids to Valhalla. International Line Builders has requested to withdraw their bid due to an error in their summation of bid pricing. The error is believed to be unintentional. (23-003)
Approved land use permit 27F-04, Carlos and Giovana Lubiana Tavares. The permit is for use of Project lands for existing dock, water access and landscaping. (23-004)
Authorized land use permit 88D-03, Deborah O’Connell. The permit is for use of Project lands for existing landscaping, fence, retaining wall and garden. (23-005)
Approved land use permit 89-02, Shawn O’Connell. The permit is for use of Project lands for existing irrigated field, fence, and access road. (23-006)
Authorized land use permit 677-03 (661), Juan and Anali Hernandez. The permit is for use of Project lands for existing staircase, irrigation pump and inlet. (23-007)
Approved amendment No. 2 to the professional service agreement with Perteet. The amendment will change the rate charged as allowed by contract. (23-008)
Authorized acceptance of the 4th unit work done by Toshiba America Energy Systems under contract 06-41-W, generator rebuild and unit refurbishment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. All work has been completed and determined to meet specifications. (23-009)
Awarded contract 22-42-W, Motor Control Center replacement at the Wells Hydroelectric Project to Olsson Industrial Electric, the lowest responsive bidder. (23-010)
Canceled the February 27, 2023 Commission Meeting due to Commissioner travel.
The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. January 23, 2023 at the District’s East Wenatchee Office.
