News Release – March 27, 2023

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E. Skagen, Aaron J. Viebrock and Molly Simpson executed the following actions during the March 27, 2023 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

Reviewed bid opening results for bid document 23-15-D, supply and deliver compact 1100kcmil EPR underground cable.  All bids are evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Authorized acceptance of work and final payment to Smith Excavation under contract 20-26-W, 2021-2022 heavy equipment services for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. All wok is complete and determined to meet the bid specifications. (23-061)

Affirmed amendment No. 2 to Professional Service agreement with CBS Field Services under contract 22-32-D, Lincoln Rock Switchyard Commissioning. Necessary to extend the length of the agreement, due to delays in construction, to June 16, 2023. (23-062)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 23-11-D, Urban Industrial to Rapids Steel Structures. Steel transmission poles are being ordered to connect the two locations. (23-063)

Authorized professional service agreement 23-19-W, wildlife services for bird hazing at the District’s hatcheries and Wells Dam tailrace for 2023 as required by the Wells Habitat Conservation Plan. The contract will not exceed $57,000 and will conclude December 31, 2023. (23-064)

Approved land use permit 714-01, Mary Bailey. The permit is for use of Project lands for existing joint use dock and access path. (23-065)

Authorized amendment of Right-Of-Way permit RR427-01, City of Pateros. This amendment will add electric vehicle charging station infrastructure and equipment to the authorized uses. (23-066)

Awarded contract 23-09-W, hatchery well and pump maintenance to Irrigation Technology and Control Inc. the only responsive bidder. This contract will not exceed $300,000 and will conclude March 31, 2024. (23-067)

Awarded contract 23-12-D, transmission and distribution dock crew to Olympic Electric Company, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. This contract will not exceed $600,000 and will conclude April 1, 2024. (23-068)

Awarded contract 23-15-D, supply and deliver compact 1100kcmil EPR underground cable to Anixter, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. (23-069)

Authorized a facilities cost contribution agreement with Microsoft Corporation for electrical facilities that will serve a new load in Douglas County. (23-070)

Scheduled a hearing for Line Extension and Connected Load Fees. The hearing will be held at 1:30 PM April 10, 2023 in the District’s East Wenatchee office.

The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. April 10, 2023 at the District’s East Wenatchee Office.
