Commission Meeting Report 2019-04-08

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Molly Simpson and Aaron J. Viebrock executed the following actions during the April 8, 2019 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

Opened bids under bid document 19-04-D, provide Distribution Tree Trimming Services. The bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Approved amendment of the Electric Distribution System Customer Service Policies to reflect current business needs.  Changes include Douglas County Community Network offerings, clarification of interseasonal billings, line extension agreement clarification, billing and deposit section updates and clarifications.  (09-039)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 19-07-D, supply and deliver 795 ACSR overhead wire necessary for the Rocky Reach-Chelan Falls reconductor project. (19-040)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 19-18-D, Chelan Falls to Douglas Switchyard fiber cable. (19-041)

Authorized acceptance of work and final payment to Fahey Machinery Company under contract 18-04-W, replace hydraulic shear at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. All work is complete and determined to meet the bid specifications.  (19-042)

Approved negotiations with CompuNet under RFP 19-01-W, communication system replacement. (19-043)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 19-15-W, low resistance grounding equipment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Necessary for backup power to the Wells Hatchery. (19-044)

Approved a professional service agreement with Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife for steelhead genetic analysis. Necessary to investigate the natural spawning success of hatchery reared steelhead relative to wild steelhead and to utilize a statistically valid number of fish to develop baseline DNA profiles for Methow River steelhead as required by the Wells HCP. The cost of this agreement is not to exceed $14,529 and will conclude August 31, 2019. (19-045)

Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 4,795 end users.

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. April 22, 2019 at the District’s East Wenatchee office.
