Commission Meeting Report 2019-11-12

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E Skagen, Molly Simpson and Aaron J. Viebrock executed the following actions during the November 12, 2019 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

Commissioner Skagen, Commissioner Viebrock, Dan Day, Commissioner Simpson

Awarded Customer Engineer Dan Day with his twenty-five year service award. Commissioner Simpson thanked Dan on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his years of service. Dan thanked the Commission, and said “It has been a nice mix of inside and outside work.”

Affirmed approval of property insurance coverage with Ace American Insurance Company and AEGIS Insurance Services, Inc. (19-139)

Authorized the Western Interconnection Data Sharing Agreement with RC West.  Necessary to govern the terms for sharing of real-time operating reliability data among registered Balancing Authorities, Transmission Operators, and RC West as the Reliability Coordinator. (19-140)

Approved purchase of Tripwire’s solution under RFP 19-21-W, cybersecurity-cyber system configuration monitoring and management solution. The total not to exceed cost is $271,051. (19-141)

Declared obsolete DCCN electronic equipment surplus and authorizes it to be sold by public auction or destroyed by e-waste contractor. The equipment is no longer needed or useful to the DCCN. (19-142)

Amended Administrative Bulletin 9.3, Procedures for Professional Services and other Work. Necessary to bring the policy in compliance with RCW 39.80 and 39.04.270. (19-143)

Authorized acceptance of work and final payment to Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC for the third year under contract 16-12-D, provide Distribution tree trimming services. All work is complete and determined to meet bid specifications.  (19-144)

Affirmed change order No. 3 to contract 19-02-W, Wells Hatchery dirt pond reconfiguration and liner replacement. Necessary to address various constructability issues including installation of screens, floats, alarms a retaining wall and additional electrical work.  This change order brings the total not to exceed limit to $2,611,487. (19-145)​

Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 5,209 end users.

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. November 25, 2019 at the District’s Wells Hydroelectric Project.
