Commission Meeting Report 2020-11-09

​Douglas County PUD Commissioners Molly Simpson, Ronald E Skagen and Aaron J. Viebrock executed the following actions during the November 09, 2020 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

Continued the budget hearing for the Distribution System and Wells Hydroelectric Project for calendar year 2021. The hearing will be held open until Monday, December 14, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. in the East Wenatchee office.

Declared a 2013 Dodge Ram bucket truck surplus and no longer useful to District operations. (20-197)

Awarded contract 20-14-D, supply and deliver 115-13.2 KV, 42 MVA, substation transformer to Lincoln Rock Switchyard to PRALAR S.A. the lowest responsive bidder. (2-198)

Rejected bids under bid document 20-15-D, supply and deliver 230-115 KV, 200 MVA, autotransformer to Lincoln Rock Switchyard due to exceptions taken. (20-199)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 20-24-D, supply and deliver 144 count 600 foot span ADSS Fiber Optic Cable. (20-200)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 20-25-D, supply and deliver 144 count squirrel and fire resistant ADSS fiber optic cable. (20-201)

Approved change order No. 89 to contract 06-41-W, generator rebuild for unit refurbishment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. This change sets the escalation amount for the 6th unit.  (20-202)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 20-12-W, rebuild the limitorque fish ladder collection chamber entrance gate operators at the Wells Hydroelectric Project. The entrance gate operators on the fish ladder collection chambers have reached the end of their useful life. With over fifty years of serve, moisture and elements have ruined the electrical package on the operators. (20-203)

Approved a call for bids under bod document 20-26-W, 2021-2022 heavy equipment services for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Necessary to perform maintenance and emergency work at various locations of the Wells Hydroelectric Project. (20-204)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 20-27-W, 2021-2022 forebay debris removal services for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Necessary to maintain efficient and safe operations of the Wells Hydroelectric Project. (20-205)

Declared miscellaneous items of personal property to be surplus and accepting bids received at public auction. The District owns a vehicle and other miscellaneous equipment which by reason of replacement policy and obsolescence are surplus and no longer useful to District operations. (20-206)

Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 6,096 end users.

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. November 23, 2020 at the District’s Wells Project. The District Office is closed to the public in response to the COVID-19 guidance from Governor Inslee.
