Feeding Habits: Ospreys almost exclusively eat fish. They rarely drink because they get most of the water they need from the flesh of the fish that they eat.

Unique Features: Because fish are so slippery, ospreys can rotate one of their three front talons backwards to help them grip fish more securely. Ospreys build giant nests on top of trees, power poles or human-made nesting platforms. Nests are made from sticks, grasses, and sometimes rope, string, and plastic bags. Osprey migrate to southern California, Mexico, and Central America in the winter.
