Are You New to Douglas County?

If you’re new to Douglas County, you may not be familiar with Public Utility Districts, (PUDs). PUDs are municipal corporations of Washington State. They are organized to provide electric, water and sewer service to the owners--in this case, the people of Douglas County. Service is provided at cost, without profit. Douglas County PUD provides electric service to all of Douglas County and operates one water system in the town of Withrow.

PUD customer/owners elect members of the local Board of Commissioners. The Board acts to establish policy, hire a general manager, review operations, and approve plans, budgets and expenditures. The Commissioners govern the legal responsibilities and powers of the district including the establishment of rates and charges for services. Your three-member PUD Board meets at the East Wenatchee office on Mondays at 2:00 p.m. at 1151 Valley Mall Parkway. On the second Monday of each month, the meeting is held at the Bridgeport office at 1:30 p.m. These meetings are open to the public. Regular office hours in East Wenatchee and Bridgeport are 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Additional information about Douglas PUD is available at either office...and welcome, customer/owner!
