Douglas County is located near the geographic center of Washington State, bounded on the west by the mighty Columbia River and the Cascade Mountain Range. Central Washington is known for agriculture, outdoor recreation and plentiful sunshine. Douglas County experiences four distinct seasons, but the weather is generally dry, with precipitation approximating 10 inches annually.
Our orchards produce high quality apples, pears, and cherries. Our vineyards produce nationally acclaimed wines. All of these things and more are available at Pybus Market. Local farmer's markets and fruit stands offer fresh local produce and support local growers.
Central Washington offers family friendly communities with excellent schools, including Wenatchee Valley College which offers a variety of transfer degrees, applied bachelor degrees,continuing education classes and partners with several universities to operate satellite campus locations.
Housing options in the area are diverse; whether you want to live in a downtown loft or in the country on a few acres, you should be able to find a place you will happily call home. The average commute time is under 20 minutes.
The Wenatchee Valley has high quality medical care, with many specialty practice offerings, and a Level 3 Trauma Center at Central Washington Hospital.
