News Release – 8/9/2021

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Aaron J. Viebrock, Molly Simpson and Ronald E Skagen executed the following actions during the August 9, 2021 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

Awarded General Foreman Tim Beck with his thirty year service award. Commissioner Viebrock thanked Tim on behalf of the citizens of Douglas C ounty for his years of service. Tim thanked the commission and said “It’s been an incredible place to work and I can’t say enough good about it. I can’t picture a better company.”

Heard the bid opening results for bid document 21-35-D, supply 15kV Breakers for Urban Industrial Substation. All bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Approved acceptance of work and final payment to WESCO Distribution, Inc. under contract 21-12-D, supply and deliver 1100 KCMIL EPR primary underground cable. All work is complete and determined to meet bid specifications. (21-123)

Awarded contract 21-35-D, supply 15kV Breakers for Urban Industrial Substation to General Pacific, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. (21-124)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 21-42-D, 230 kV Instrument Transformers for Urban Industrial Substation. These are necessary to provide current and voltage information for the purpose of transmission and bus protection as well as metering at Urban Industrial Substation. (21-125)

Awarded contract 21-22-D, relay panels for Lincoln Rock Switchyard to Electrical Power Products, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. The previously awarded contractor did not meet terms set in the original bid. (21-126)

Awarded contract 21-30-D, supply and deliver tubular steel poles for the Rapids to Columbia 230 kV Transmission Line to MVA Power, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. (21-127)

Approved purchase of generator excitation system control equipment from ABB, Inc. a sole source, under contract 21-44-W. ABB supplied the existing excitation system and is the only company capable of upgrading the controls equipment without replacing the entire excitation system. (21-128)

Authorized a professional service agreement with the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation for Wells Hydroelectric Project Archaeological monitoring. This agreement will not-exceed $80,262 and will conclude May 30, 2022. (21-129)

The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. August 23, 2021 at the District’s East Wenatchee Office.
