News Release – May 22, 2023

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E. Skagen, Aaron J. Viebrock and Molly Simpson executed the following actions during the May 22, 2023 Commission meeting held at the District’s Wells Dam:

Approved land use permit 926-01, Ryan and Betty Ann Allstot. The permit is for use of Project lands for existing access path and landscaping. (23-098)

Authorized amendment No. 1 to terminate the Interlocal Agreement with Grant County PUD for video headend equipment with no obligation to either party. (23-099)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 23-31-D, construct Urban Industrial to Rapids 230kV tie. Necessary to connect Urban Industrial Substation to the transmission line. (23-100)

Approved amendment No. 8 to professional service agreement with Electrical Consultants, Inc. under contract 20-33-D. Changes include the design and construction management of a new substation as well as changes to the Orondo substation and ongoing hydrogen facility design costs. This amendment will increase the contract $1,292,000. (23-101)

Amended the Electric Distribution System Customer Service Policies. This amendment would update Sections 32 of the Customer Service Policies to account for the increased costs for transformers and power delivery. (23-102)

Approved execution of a new collective bargaining agreement with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 77 for a three year period effective April 1, 2023. (23-103)

Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 7,823 end users.

The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. June 12, 2023 at the District’s East Wenatchee Office.
