News Release – June 26, 2023

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E. Skagen, Aaron J. Viebrock and Molly Simpson executed the following actions during the June 26, 2023 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

Awarded John Brown, Property Supervisor with his twenty-five year service award. Commissioner Skagen thanked John on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his many years of service. He thanked the Commission talked about various roles he has had at the utility and said, “I’m fortunate to have a career of 25 years here. The best part of working here is being given the resources necessary to do an exceptional job.”

Approved acceptance of work and final payment to Lugo, Inc. DBA North Western Machinery under contract 22-58-W, milling machine addition for Wells Hydroelectric Project. All work is complete and determined to meet bid specifications. (23-121)

Awarded contract 23-18-W, Well 20 pump station installation to Irrigation Technology and Control, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. (23-122)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 23-35-D, 230kV Breakers for Clovis Substation. (23-123)

Approved execution of intent to grant easement and accept easement from Intermountain Infrastructure Group, LLC. This provides an easement through property where a future transmission line will be built in the Palisades area. (23-124)

Authorized change order No. 1 to contract 22-22-D, Douglas to Rapids Intertie steel transmission poles. Changes to the structure heights and loading are necessary for the terrain and spans required. (22-125)

Approved Professional Service Agreement 23-29-W, hatchery marking and tagging with Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. The one year agreement is in accordance with the Anadromous Fish Agreement and Habitat Conservation Plan for marking and tagging various hatchery fish including Spring Chinook, Summer Chinook, Summer Steelhead and Coho, the cost of which is not to exceed $306,450. Starting in July, the regular meeting of the Commission will be held on the second and fourth TUESDAY of the month at 1:30pm in the East Wenatchee office.

The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. TUESDAY, July 11, 2023 at the District’s East Wenatchee Office.
