News Release – January 2, 2024

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E. Skagen, Aaron J. Viebrock and Molly Simpson executed the following actions during the January 2, 2024 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

Reviewed bid opening results under bid documents 23-40-D, tubular steel poles for Clovis Substation, 23-45-D, control and relay panels for Clovis Substation and 23-52-W, rehabilitate trashracks at the Wells Hydroelectric Project.  All bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Approved acceptance of work and final payment to Border States Industries Inc. under contract 22-60-D, Douglas to Urban Industrial transmission wire. All work is complete and determined to meet the bid specifications. (24-001)

Rejected bids under bid document 23-40-D, tubular steel poles for Clovis Substation. All bids were over the engineer’s estimate. (24-002)

Authorized award of contract 23-45-D, control and relay panels for Clovis Substation to Electrical Power Products, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. (24-003)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 23-48-D, 230 kV Instrument Transformers for Clovis Substation. (24-004)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 24-04-D, ACCC Transmission wire. (24-005)

Approved a call for bids under bid document 24-05-D, 15 kV breakers for Clovis Substation. (24-006)

Authorized a call for bids under bid document 24-06-D, steel poles for Clovis Substation. (24-007)

Approved land use permit 112-01, Lawrence and Sharon Harms. The permit is for use of Project lands for existing access road, irrigation well, pasture and orchard. (24-008)

Authorized change order No. 3 to contract 21-51-D, fiber optic cable installation. Changes include contract increase of $109,500 due to increased scope of work completed. (24-009)

Approved change order No. 5 to contract 22-13-D, Hydrogen Production and Fueling Facility. Changes include provisions for additional electrolyzers, snow stops on the roof and draining revisions at an increased cost of $234,430. (24-010)

Authorized negotiation of contract under bid document 23-52-W, rehabilitate trashracks at the Wells Hydroelectric Project as allowed by RCW 54.04.080. (24-011)

Approved the purchase of a new Link-Belt 120T mobile crane from Triad Machinery for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. (24-012)

The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. January 16, 2024 at the District’s East Wenatchee Office.
