News Release – January 16, 2024

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E. Skagen, Aaron J. Viebrock and Molly Simpson executed the following actions during the January 16, 2024 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

Awarded Rich Klein, Datebase Administrator with his twenty-five year service award. Commissioner Skagen thanked Rich on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his many years of service. He thanked the Commission and said, “I feel extremely lucky and proud to have worked here for twenty-five years. I look forward to the next twenty-five.”

Authorized land use permits 108-01, 109A-01, and 128S-01, Sharon Skirko. The permits are for use of Project lands for existing access roads, garden, orchard and agricultural field. (24-013)

Approved easement No. 45-02MGD, Westco Orchards, LLC for the use of an irrigation pumping facility. This is a transfer of rights from Sunshine Ag. (24-014)

Authorized professional service agreement with Perteet under contract 23-50-D, transmission line design. The agreement has a not-to exceed limit of $750,000 and will conclude December 31, 2026. (24-015)

Approved a legal services agreement with the Law Firm of Morgan, Lewis and Bockius LLP. The contract will conclude December 31, 2024. (24-016)

Authorized a legal services agreement with the Law Firm of Van Ness Feldman, LLP. The contract will conclude December 31, 2024. (24-017)

Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 8,024 end users.

The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. February 6, 2024 at the District’s East Wenatchee Office.
