News Release – February 6, 2024

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E. Skagen, Aaron J. Viebrock and Molly Simpson executed the following actions during the February 6, 2024 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

Reviewed bid opening results for bid docs: 23-26-D, 115 kV Autotransformer for Douglas Switchyard, 23-20-D, supply and deliver 115 kV Substation Transformer, 23-48-D, 230 kV Instrument Transformers for Clovis Substation, 24-03-D, 115 kV breakers for Eastmont and Douglas Substations, 24-05-D, 15 kV breakers for Clovis Substation. All bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Approved award of contract 23-48-D, 230 kV Instrument Transformers for Clovis Substation to Border States Industries, the lowest responsive bid. (24-018)

Authorized award of contract 23-20-D, supply and deliver 115 kV Substation Transformer to Pralar USA, Inc, the lowest responsive bid. (24-019)

Renewed insurance for non-owned aircraft liability with Starr Aviation. (24-020)

Approved change order No. 103 to contract 06-41-W, generator rebuild and unit refurbishment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. Changes include rehabilitation of one set of Trashracks at an increased cost of $300,000. (24-021)

Declared a special facility condition to procure hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. Grant funding will allow purchase of fuel cell vehicles from Toyota. (24-022)

Authorized the purchase of electric vehicle charging equipment from Platt Electric, Inc. Necessary for the East Wenatchee Headquarters DC fast charge and Hydrogen fueling station. (24-023)

Approved revising Schedule 6 of the Electric Distribution System Customer Service Policies. To reflect the current business needs of the District, this will eliminate the DCCN new connection fee in an effort to increase new connections. (24-024)

The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. February 20, 2024 at the District’s Bridgeport Office.
