News Release – June 17, 2025
Douglas County PUD Commissioners Molly Simpson, Aaron J. Viebrock and Ronald E. Skagen executed the following actions during the June 17, 2025 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:
Awarded Zach Gormley, Assistant Manager – Chief Financial Officer with his twenty-year service award. Commissioner Simpson thanked Zach on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his many years of service. Zach thanked the Commission and discussed his various roles at the PUD starting in Bridgeport as deputy auditor and working to CFO in East Wenatchee.
Approved revoking land use permit 91-01, Terry and Tammy Taylor due to no proof of insurance. (25-031)
Authorized execution of a reimbursable agreement with the US Department of Energy – Bonneville Power Administration. Necessary to complete the reconductor work on the Rapids-Hanna-Valhalla transmission line. (25-032)
Approved revising Schedule 4 of the Electric Distribution System Customer Service Policies. This will make the integration charge consistent with District costs. (25-033)
Authorized negotiation of a contract under Bid Document 25-09-D, 230KV X 115KV Substation Transformers as allowed by RCW 54.04.080. (25-034)
Approved a progressive design build agreement under contract 25-12-D with Haskell/Coffman Engineers for the Hydrogen Fueling and Fuel Cell Generator with Storage Project. This Agreement will not exceed $599,260.00 and expires on December 31, 2026. (25-035)
Authorized award of contract 25-15-D, 115 KV O’Malley Substation Transformer to WEG Transformers the lowest responsive bidder. (25-036)
Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 8,867 end users.
The next regular meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. July 1, 2025 at the District’s East Wenatchee Office.
