Douglas County PUD Commissioners Ronald E Skagen, Molly Simpson and Aaron J. Viebrock executed the following actions during the June 11, 2018 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:
Heard bid opening results from bid document 18-03-W, supply two 14.4kV to 480 V, 2 MVA, dry type transformers for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. All bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.
Awarded contract 18-24-D, supply and deliver 3-phase padmount transformers to ERMCO, the lowest responsive bidder. (18-101)
Approved the disposal of obsolete video equipment. These items are obsolete, of no value, and unsuitable for sale at a surplus auction. (18-102)
Authorized change order No. 2 to contract 16-29-W, 2017 grounds maintenance. Necessary to include a new schedule to account for remote facilities. (18-103)
Approved change order No. 4 to contract 17-12-W, Pateros dock replacements and boat launch improvements. This change extends the completion date to July 24, 2018. (18-104)
Authorized change orders Nos. 81-82 to contract 06-41-W, generator rebuild for unit refurbishment for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. These changes include adjusting the lump sum contract price to account for escalation, Unit 2 rotor refurbishment, and spare parts. This will increase the contract for Unit 2 by $1,865,045 and decrease the total contract amount by $1,691,749 for a total not-to-exceed amount of $190,560,14. (18-105)
Rejected bids under bid document 18-05-W, replacement of cooling water strainer for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. There were no responsive bids. (18-106)
Approved a call for bids under bid document 18-25-W, Columbia Cove Park restroom and site improvements. This project would replace the restroom with a larger capacity facility and would replace the playground equipment and fall protection surface. (18-107)
Authorized a call for bids under bid document 18-27-W, construct Conklin Landing RV Park. This project will include 17 full RV hookups, a restroom/shower facility and a picnic shelter. (18-108)
Approved the eighth amendment to the Power Sales Service Agreement with the Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation. The District will sell the Tribe’s power allocation on a forward basis covering all of the period from September 1, 2018 through September 30, 2021. (18-109)
Authorized confirmation agreement with Puget Sound Energy, Inc for the Colville Tribe’s power allocation for the period September 1, 2018 through September 30, 2021. (18-110)
Authorized land use permit 87B-2 and 636B-02, Mac and Becky Gebbers. The permit is for continued use of Project lands for previously permitted single use dock, ramp, landscaping and access pathway. (18-111)
Heard a report on the Douglas County Community Network. The network currently has 4,334 end users.
The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. June 25, 2018 at the District’s East Wenatchee office.
