Commission Meeting Report 2021-04-26

Douglas County PUD Commissioners Aaron J. Viebrock, Molly Simpson and Ronald E Skagen executed the following actions during the April 26, 2021 Commission meeting held at the District’s East Wenatchee office:

Awarded Customer Engineer Mike Snyder with his twenty year service award. Commissioner Viebrock thanked Mike on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his years of service. Mike thanked the Commission and said “I work with a lot of customers and the way the District is run makes my job easier.”

Awarded Meterman Foreman Darren Robertson with his twenty-five year service award. Commissioner Viebrock thanked Darren on behalf of the citizens of Douglas County for his years of service. Darren thanked the Commission and said “I enjoy what I do. I have a great crew and this is a great place to work. I’m happy to be here.”

Heard the bid opening results for bid documents 21-11-D, supply and deliver Bus steel to Lincoln Rock Switchyard and 21-13-D, supply and deliver 230kV breakers to East Wenatchee. All bids will be evaluated prior to a recommendation for contract award.

Authorized surplus and salvage of Distribution transformers and bushings. These items are no longer in use and have exceeded their life expectancy. (21-068)

Awarded contract 21-10-D, supply and deliver tubular steel poles for the Lincoln Rock Switchyard to MICA Steel Works, the lowest responsive bidder. (21-069)

Awarded contract 21-11-D, supply and deliver bus support steel for the Lincoln Rock Switchyard to Galvanizers, Inc. the lowest responsive bidder. (21-070)

Approved a professional service agreement with Schnabel Engineering LLC to provide specialized dam safety, geotechnical and civil related engineering services for the Wells Hydroelectric Project. (21-071)

Authorized adjustments to certain technical, professional and administrative salaries. An adjustment to salaries of 3.0% and other adjustments to recognize promotions, performance, responsibility and job market trends are necessary to continue to attract and retain a qualified workforce. (21-072)

The next meeting of the Commission is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. May 10, 2021 at the District’s East Wenatchee Office. The District Office is closed to the public in response to the COVID-19 guidance from Governor Inslee.
